Andy Kimber

Background

INTRODUCING ANDY KIMBER

Andy grew up in Essex, but is confident his broad-minded Suffolk friends and colleagues won’t hold it against him.

In 2021 he took early retirement from a software engineering career with BT to focus more on his core skills: drinking tea and gaming.

He is a keen member of the award-winning Deben Players in Woodbridge. Here he acts and is sometimes allowed to direct his own shows, of which he has written quite a few, most with his own original music and sound effects.

From 2017-2021 he hosted two weekly shows at Felixstowe Radio and after a break is now keen to return his borderline lunacy to the airwaves – or at least, fibre-optic internet waves – with Suffolk Sound.

Andy also played keyboards for years with Ipswich-based covers band Hurricane Alley, during which time he received many amusing comments about the size of his organ. At home in Woodbridge he is tolerated by two cats.
