Jenna Ackerley

Jenna is a Suffolk business founder, Managing Director, and commercial property developer.

She was born in Felixstowe and lives in East Bergholt.  She started her first business aged 24, when she started a recruitment business in Spain for seasonal workers in beach and ski resorts to satisfy her wanderlust at the time.  On selling this start-up, she returned to her native Suffolk and in 2013, aged 33 she conceived and founded Events Under Canvas – an outdoor events business setting up outdoor tented venues for weddings, festivals, corporate events and parties.

Her business employs 20 people all year round and another 60 seasonal crew in busy summer months, undertaking 400+ events per year.  They have built their awe-inspiring and unique tents for royalty, celebrity weddings and big festivals across the UK and beyond.

Outside of her business life, Jenna is a proud Board Trustee of youth charity Inspire Suffolk, and sits on the board of MUTA; the trade body for the marquee industry.  She has two children, is a keen skier, and is active in her village community arranging balls, parades and local events and fundraising.  This is Jenna’s first time in Radio Broadcasting, and she is delighted to be joining the Suffolk Sound Family on Tuesdays from Midday.
